Clean Water Act

The Clean Water Act course provides insight on the controls focused on discharges to surface water that evolved out of The Clean Harbors Act of 1899. Pollution controls were added in 1948, 1956 and 1965. In 1972 point source discharges were developed to place theoretical limits of contaminants that bodies of water could handle. This course provides for the foundation of knowledge to understand the use and need for clean water with an ever-growing demand for it.
