Arc Flash Training / NFPA 70E

General Background:

    Exposure to an arc flash frequently results in a variety of serious injuries and in some cases, death. Workers have been injured at ten feet or more, away from the arc center. Worker injuries can include: damaged hearing, eyesight, and severe burns, requiring years of skin grafting and rehabilitation.

    OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.333 states, in part, “Safety related work practices shall be employed to prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from either direct or indirect electrical contacts.” The following course defines the requirements for safe work practices to help workers avoid injury from a release of electrical energy when performing tasks involving electrical power. Workers will become aware of the hazards involved when working with and / or around electricity as well as how to prevent and minimize those hazards associated with arc flash.
